The Peace Education Center is excited to announce the Alternative Holiday Sale is back for 2023! The Alternative Holiday Sale gives the Greater Lansing community an opportunity to connect, shop, and support local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and fair-trade cooperatives, embodying the spirit of the holiday season in a socially conscious way.
What to Expect
For over 15 years, the Alternative Holiday Sale has provided the local community an opportunity to support local business and artisans- and the Peace Education Center! The AHS is held at Edgewood United Church in East Lansing. Throughout the event, visitors can enjoy a variety of meals and snacks that will be available for purchase, and participate in our famous Raffle- with all proceeds set to support the work the Peace Education Center.
There’s more! The Peace Education Center has partnered with the Ten Pound Fiddle again this year to present a live concert during the AHS. On Friday, November 17, at 7:30 pm (with doors opening at 6:30 pm), guests will be able to attend a performance featuring the talented musician Joe Jencks!

Vendor Information
There’s still time to reserve a space at the 2023 Alternative Holiday Sale!
At the core of the Alternative Holiday Sale lies a diverse array of vendors and local artists. By offering a platform for small businesses, nonprofits, and fair-trade cooperatives to showcase their products, the AHS underscores the significance of mindful consumption. Vendor spaces are now available for reservation at a nominal cost, which has been adjusted to accommodate the increase in expenses associated with organizing this year’s event. Vendor reservations can be made according to the following pricing structure:
- $50 for a single 6ft table
- $45 for two or more 6ft tables per table ($45 multiplied by the number of tables)
For those interested in participating as vendors, please complete this vendor form and submit it alongside the appropriate payment to the Peace Education Center.
